BWOM Hosts Event Masterclass & Kitchen Supper

Team BWoM has always been proud of the immense detail and skill that goes into creating imaginative, stylish events and we enjoy giving clients and venue partners a sneak peek into what goes on behind the scenes here at our HQ.  With this in mind, we opened our doors on a warm August day to welcome a handful of our venue partners to an Event Masterclass and Kitchen Supper.

Our guests were more than happy to get stuck in and work for their supper, enjoying classes in canape making/presentation, cocktail shaking, calligraphy and floral decoration (with thanks to our canape team, head cocktail barman Phil and friends from Hayford & Rhodes and London Scribes).  The canape and cocktail teams kept everyone enthusiastically fed and watered as they worked whilst the calligraphy and floral participants spent their lesson creating the place cards and table decorations for the supper table.

Meanwhile, BWoM chefs were preparing dinner in our open kitchen, discussing the challenges of creating restaurant standard dishes for large/complex events and answering questions about the provenance of our ingredients.

When dining in a catering kitchen, where better to sit than at the work benches themselves?   Placed end to end down the length of the kitchen, they transformed into a delightfully chic dining table, especially when embellished with the handwritten placement cards and stunning floristry created by our guests.

When choosing the food for our kitchen supper, we were keen to go for dishes that focused on simple but stunning ingredients – after all, dining in the kitchen is all about sociable informality and effortless style.  On the menu for our kitchen supper was burrata with truffle, pork belly with peaches and dill-milk ice cream with madeleines, not forgetting the warmed sourdough with whipped Marmite butter (love or loathe…..we LOVE!).  Finally, we brought the experience to a playful conclusion with our irresistible take on coffee and tea – cookie shots filled with coffee & Baileys milkshake and a miniature MarTEAni.
